Nick Drakon, CEO of crypto research and education platform Revelo Intel, resigned following a traumatic armed robbery. Drakon revealed in a September 5 post on X that he was held at gunpoint and forced to transfer both personal and company funds.
It’s been almost 4 years since I entered the crypto space as a somewhat “public figure” and my time here has been mostly fantastic. I have met hundreds of interesting and kind people, some of whom I now consider great friends.

The attackers, a “highly sophisticated group,” specifically targeted crypto assets and knew the exact deposit addresses of Revelo Intel's businesses. Drakon’s wife and eight-month-old son were also threatened during the heist.
By now, it's widely known that an unfortunate event occurred affecting @ReveloIntel and Revelo Ventures. Specifically, it involved Nick and his family - details which are his to share, not mine (see QT).

The stolen assets included not only Drakon’s personal funds but also working capital from Revelo Intel and Revelo Ventures, the company’s investment arm.
Drakon suggested that the robbery might have been an inside job but refrained from sharing further details to avoid jeopardizing the investigation or putting his family at risk. Former Chief Operating Officer Vu Benson will now step in as the new CEO of Revelo Intel.
Friend.tech, the social media platform built on crypto, saw its native token FRIEND plunge by 26% following a significant shift in control over its smart contracts.

On September 8, the Friend.tech team transferred ownership of its contracts to Ethereum’s null address, an irreversible action intended to prevent future changes to fees or functionality.
End of an era 😭 not at all how I saw it playing out.
It was probably challenging legally but I would have (and privately made it known) bought the business of @friendtech , inherited the tech, and built it into ethos given the chance
now it’s over.
