💡 Feature of the Day:
Prominent investor Jason Calacanis ignited controversy by suggesting Bitcoin will be replaced by a superior alternative.
Bitcoin has been a wonderful game, but with a couple giant players cornering the market, the timing is right to “build a better bitcoin” — restarting the game!
folks cornering the market will say this is foolish, while they donate to Trump to encourage more buying, but…

He argued that dominant players have cornered the market, making it ripe for disruption.
Many have tried to replace SQL, all have failed.
SQL is 52 years old.
Sometimes technology is actually a timeless language that just slowly evolves and extends over time. BITCOIN

However, Bitcoin supporters, including Swan Bitcoin’s founders, countered that winning protocols evolve rather than being replaced.
Winning protocols don’t get replaced, they are built upon. TCP/IP will never be replaced. Bitcoin will never be replaced as a protocol for value transfer. The race is still on for the winning second layer protocol. Lightning is ahead so BTC/LN is the current winning stack.

Industry leaders like David Markus and Eric Voorhees echoed similar views, stating that Bitcoin’s limitations can be solved without replacing it.
This video explains very quickly for @Jason and similarly confused folks that Bitcoin is a technological REVOLUTION changing all industries, not following the adoption curve of a single technology like an iPad.

Others noted that Bitcoin's expansive network effect makes it nearly impossible to displace.
There’s no better Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the immaculate conception, the Big Bang of digital assets. It cannot be recreated. What it lacks in functionality can be built on L2s like Lightning and @buildonspark. Trying to build a better Bitcoin is a fool’s errand.
