India Arrests Garantex Founder [Source][Source][Source][Source]

Indian authorities arrested Aleksej Besciokov, co-founder of Russian crypto exchange Garantex, in response to a U.S. request.

Garantex was sanctioned in 2022 for allegedly laundering stolen funds, including those linked to North Korea’s Lazarus Group.

The arrest follows a U.S. crackdown, which included taking down the Garantex website and filing charges against Besciokov and associates.

The indictment alleges Besciokov knowingly facilitated criminal transactions through his exchange.
