📰 News Highlights:
President Donald Trump signed a resolution to repeal a controversial IRS rule targeting "custodial brokers" in crypto, marking the first crypto-related bill signed into law.
The rule, introduced at the end of the Biden administration, required brokers and DeFi participants to report user data and issue Form 1099s, which critics said unfairly treated decentralized platforms like traditional financial institutions.
The White House is pleased to announce its support for the CRA introduced by @SenTedCruz and @RepMikeCarey to rescind the so-called Broker DeFi Rule, an 11th hour attack on the crypto community by the Biden administration.

The repeal received bipartisan support in Congress, including from Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Mike Carey, the latter of whom called the regulation a bureaucratic overreach.
UPDATE: As promised, President Trump has signed the bill to repeal the DeFi Broker Rule. Congratulations to @SenTedCruz, @RepMikeCarey, and @RepBryanSteil for steering the resolution through Congress.

Ulbricht was pardoned earlier this year by Donald Trump after serving a life sentence for operating Silk Road, which used Bitcoin to facilitate the trade of illegal goods.
His release and reappearance are significant for many in the crypto community, as Ulbricht’s story is deeply linked to Bitcoin’s early history.
